Donald Trump’s campaign claims it has raised $7.1 million in donations since taking his historic mugshot following his Georgia arrest.
The Trump 2024 presidential campaign attributed the remarkable upswing to the former U.S. President’s tweet showcasing his own mugshot as he asked supporters for contributions to ‘evict’ President Joe Biden.
‘I walked into the lion’s den with one simple message on behalf of our entire movement: I WILL NEVER SURRENDER OUR MISSION TO SAVE AMERICA,’ Trump wrote on X (formerly Twitter) Thursday.
He then asked supporters to make a campaign contribution ‘to evict’ President Joe Biden ‘during this dark chapter in our nation’s history.’
Officials from Trump’s camp verified that they had secured close to $20 million in fundraising over the past three weeks — which aligned with the federal indictment in Washington, DC and the widely circulated mugshot taken in Atlanta.

The Trump campaign received $4.18 million in funds on Friday, according to the outlet, marking it as the most financially successful day throughout the entire campaign.

The surge in fundraising seems to have also been partly pushed by the sale of merchandise through their online store.
Immediately after Trump was taken into custody, they started selling merchandise with Trump’s mug shot, including shirts, posters, bumper stickers and more.

It was the former president’s first tweet since January 2021 when he was banned from Twitter following the January 6 Capitol attack.
